It's been a lovely few days here with the sun finally out. It's still cold but at least Mr Sun has shown his face.
This got us thinking about summer and our plans - so much so that we finally got around to booking our trip to France.
We're off here for a month
and I can't wait!
This year the Tour de France comes through Boussac on 9th July
It's quite exciting
and our neighbour Eugenie just adores it
we joke that she just like the men in shorts....
Last year we also went to cap Ferret in the Bassin d'Arcachon
and our French friends have asked us back again this year
It really is a magical place
Full of old world charm
The Bassin d'Arcachon is a haven for outdoor-lovers.
Over 100km of coastline from south of Arcachon to Cap Ferret, beaches for everyone from toddlers to championship surfers; pine forests, sand dunes, chic towns, historic oyster-farming villages, and cycle trails to discover it all by.
Every water-sport imaginable.
An abundance of nature, especially for bird-watchers.
And, in common with the rest of this part of France, it's very family-friendly and oozes a laid-back, un-self conscious style that makes you quickly feel at home.
A delight!
Le Cap Ferret - chic-est spot on the the Cap Ferret peninsula . Smart boutiques, cafes and restaurants in a low-rise, laid-back setting - the ambience is casual, relaxed but appreciative of good living. A lot of the french movie stars come here to holiday as they can walk about freely and no one bothers them. We were waiting for ice cream last year standing right next to Audrey Tautou
she played Coco Chanel in the movie Coco before Chanel
she really is very beautiful
Guess I'd better start that diet after all!
